Mr Nicholas Lai is a solicitor-turned-industrialist and tech start-up founder. He was recognised at the Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong 2022 for his efforts in advocating for industrial automation advancement, IIoT implementation and digital transformation.

Because of his expertise in industrial digital transformation, Mr Lai has been invited to become a member of Hong Kong Productive Council’s Professional Production of SCS and RPL Cluster for the Manufacturing Technology (Tooling, Metals, Plastics) – Industrial 4.0 Steering and Subject Matter Expert Committee and Qualifications Framework’s Specification of Competency Standard Drafting Subcommittee. He also contributes regularly to forums and seminars for industrialists and students and serves as a mentor for various universities and institutions.

Mr Lai serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on the HKSAR Recycling Fund, as well as a member of the Innovation and Technology Fund Technology Voucher Programme Committee. Within the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), he is the Vice Chairman of the Young Executive Council, the Committee on Promoting Corporate Social Responsibility , and the Innovation and Technology Development Committee. He also serves as an executive committee member of Hong Kong Automation Technology Council , Hong Kong Metal and Machinery Council , and Education Committee in FHKI.
