Director, Job Matriz Limited
Graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering at City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Mr Henry Lee has over a decade of experience in developing electronic and mechanical engineering projects in Japan. In 2013, Mr Lee visited IDEA Co in Chicago to study Design Thinking and subsequently completed IDEO's Design Thinking & Prototyping course as well as TRIZ Master Level 1 certification. He then founded the social enterprise Idea Maker HK.
Driven by a passion for electronics, mechanical engineering, and 3D printing technology, Mr Lee integrated "Design Thinking" and "Creative Problem Solving" into STEM education. This led to the development of courses specifically designed for children and youths, aimed at enabling young individuals from low-income families to realize their ideas and become inventors.
From 2015 to 2023, Idea Maker HK has collaborated with 50 companies, 8 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and over 100 schools, providing courses to more than 20,000 students. Together, he has engaged in product design, manufacturing, and production, and have promoted inclusive innovation workshops for the community, yielding significant social benefits.
In 2021, Mr Lee led a group of young people to establish the JobMatriz, a job-matching platform, which provides Hong Kong's youth with opportunities for future skills learning and employment. This platform incorporates generative artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and blockchain technologies. Mr Lee has received support from the CityUHK HK Tech 300 Seed Fund, Angel Fund, and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) Incubation Fund.
