Dr Ding received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Peking University, both in physics. He received his PhD in Semiconductor Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the inventor and/or co-inventor of 32 issued U.S. patents. Earlier in his career, he was a high-tech R&D technologist in Silicon Valley, where he focused on new product development, primarily in the semiconductor and IC chip industry. Later, Dr Ding became a corporate lawyer, first practicing in New York, and then in Hong Kong and mainland China. Dr Ding has extensive experience in a broad spectrum of capital markets and M&A transactions, especially in the TMT, healthcare, hard-tech, financial institutions and other emerging technology fields. He stays well connected to the technology community, particularly in the Greater China region.
