CityUHK hosts "DeSci Hong Kong 2025", featuring HK Tech 300 Start-ups

Recognised as one of the most influential blockchain and Web 3.0 summits globally, "Consensus" made its first-ever move outside the U.S. at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. One of the side events, "DeSci Hong Kong 2025", was held on 18 Feb in the HK Tech 300 co-working space, featuring a series of panel discussions, networking opportunities and start-up presentations, with the participation of two start-ups from HK Tech 300.

Organised by HK Tech 300 and the CityUHK Institute of Digital Medicine, in collaboration with DeSci Sino and Bio Protocol, the event attracted over 500 registered participants. DeSci Sino is a global Web 3.0 community for Mandarin-speaking DeSci enthusiasts, and Bio Protocol promotes biotech innovation through decentralised fundraising.
DeSci, or Decentralized Science, aims to address traditional challenges using technology, like blockchain and Web 3.0, including the development of digital healthcare solutions.

Prof Michael Yang, Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) of CityUHK, delivered the opening speech. Notable speakers included Prof Amy Lung, Director of CityUE and Adjunct Professor in the CityUHK Academy of Innovation, and Dr Kevin Chow, Partner of Bayland Capital, the Corporate Venture Platform of Pharmaron, who participated in panel discussions on "Hong Kong as a DeSci Hub" and "DeSci Future: A New Possibility for Digital Medicine".

Two start-ups funded by the HK Tech 300 Angel Fund—Digital Vision Brands and Feelings AI—participated in the start-up presentation. Digital Vision is a blockchain technology company that provides low-code digital product solutions through "Web 3.0 Transformation as a Service". Feelings AI utilises generative artificial intelligence to create or convert various digital asset formats, enabling the public to easily showcase, exchange or lease digital assets without the need for coding.
