HK Tech Forum
The Forum on Quantum Physics and Complex Systems from 7 to 9 December aims to provide a multi-disciplinary, cross-pollination arena for world-leading scientists to share critical views on aspects of quantum and complex-system physics, together with the technological implications for the next-generation quantum smart devices and quantum computing architectures and applications for biological and non-biological complex systems. The featured speakers are Professor Giorgio Parisi, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2021, and Professor Anton Zeilinger, Austrian Academy of Sciences, Austria, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2022. Please visit here for more information.
The Tech Forum on Metabolism in Health and Disease from 15 to 16 December explores how revealing signaling pathways in the metabolism of oxygen, glucose, lipids, proteins and other nutrients is crucial for a better understanding of human physiology and diseases. It reveals how deeper mechanistic insights into complex signaling networks in metabolic pathways can advance our knowledge of human metabolism and its role in homeostasis and disease pathogenesis. The ultimate goal is the detection, prevention and therapeutic intervention of chronic human diseases, including cancer, cardio-metabolic disorder and neurodegeneration. The featured speaker is Professor Gregg L. Semenza, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, US, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2019.
