Notes:
- Besides Category A elective subjects, Mathematics extended modules (M1/M2) and Category C-Other Language Subjects (at grade E or above) can also be used to meet the elective requirement. If students take both M1 and M2, the two modules are counted as one subject only.
- Category B-Applied Learning (ApL) Subjects are not counted as elective subjects.

Flexible Admissions Arrangement
Applicants who attain excellent overall results in HKDSE but slightly fall short of the programme entrance requirements may still be considered for admission. More information will be released in July 2025.

Direct / Non-JUPAS Applications
Applicants who hold qualifications other than HKDSE examination results such as General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-level), an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, a sub-degree or an overseas qualification.
Admission to First-year Studies (Normative 4-year degree)

Applicants holding a school-leaving qualification or a partially completed sub-degree qualification may apply for admission to first-year studies in BSc Chemistry.
Advanced Standings I and II
Admission Code: 1523A
Applicants holding a 13-year school-leaving qualification, an IB Diploma and GCE A-level or Bachelor's Degree may apply for admission to first-year studies in BSc Chemistry, or admission to BSc Chemistry with Advanced Standing I (non-senior year).
Applicants holding an Associate Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualifications may apply for admission to first-year studies, Advanced Standing I or Advanced Standing II in BSc Chemistry.
Non-Local Qualifications
Most school-leaving qualifications accepted for university entry are recognised. Applicants whose entrance qualifications were obtained in a language other than English will need a satisfactory TOEFL score ≥ 79 (Internet-Based Test), an overall IELTS band score ≥ 6.5 (Academic Module), or other acceptable English qualifications.
Mature Age Application
Mature local applicants are eligible to apply for admission to first-year studies even if they do not satisfy any of the above requirements. Mature applicants must be over the age of 25 by 1 September of the year of admission and be able to demonstrate their aptitude and suitability for study.
