Background
The Hong Kong Branch of the National Precious Metals Material Engineering Research Center is honored to organize, in collaboration with CLP Power Hong Kong, the “International Conference on Powering a Carbon Neutral Future - The Role of Nuclear Energy” at the City University of Hong Kong on 17 January 2025.
The conference will bring together experts around the globe to discuss the important role of nuclear energy in decarbonization from the perspectives of the global community, Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Conference Objectives
The “International Conference on Powering a Carbon Neutral Future - The Role of Nuclear Energy” aims to explore the role of nuclear energy in achieving a carbon-neutral future, both locally and internationally. It provides a platform for academics, experts, and professionals in the fields of decarbonisation, nuclear energy, energy transformation, and carbon neutrality to exchange knowledge, share research findings, and discuss best practices.
By incorporating global, China, and Hong Kong perspectives, the conference aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in different regional contexts. Additionally, through hybrid mode, the conference aims to attract a diverse audience, including academics, experts, professionals, policy makers, and students from around the globe in related disciplines.
