CENG Outstanding Teaching Award 2021-22

Congratulations to Dr. Gianni Talamini and Dr. Denvid Lau on receiving CENG Outstanding Teaching Award 2021-22. This award is a true recognition of their teaching excellence.

 

Dr. Gianni Talamini is an Italian architect, urban designer and scholar passionate about teaching. He has been awarded the CENG Outstanding Teaching Award 2021-22 with the following motivations: “Referenced a world-renowned university’s protocol in course design; allowed student’s works exhibited in international and local venues.”


Dr. Talamini sees education as contributing to the cultural enrichment and the development of a society of free, creative, independent individuals able to appreciate and gain from both past and present cultural achievements. His approach to teaching includes six Ds: demonstration, deduction, digression, discovery, development and dedication.

Dr. Denvid Lau has been awarded the CENG Outstanding Teaching Award 2021-22 in view of an effective pedagogy : “Adopted inverted classroom approach to encourage more student participation and mutual interactions in class”.


An in-depth preparation is necessary for an effective teaching, and successful teaching can be achieved by engaging students’ participation during class though inverted classroom approach, which can significantly enhance the interaction between students and teacher, leading to a positive learning atmosphere in class.
