The Advanced Coatings Applied Research Laboratory was established in 2001 with funding supports from the HKSAR Innovation and Technology Commission and the industry. It occupies an area of approximately 186 m² in the Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Laboratory, City University of Hong Kong. The research and development is focused on surface engineering, hard coating and tribology.
