Business Orientation Programme (BOP)
Business Orientation Programme (BOP) is CLC’s go-to set of career/employment courses meant to complement Year 1 to Year 2 students’ studies towards the end of holistic development: university does not only train you as an academic, but as a future professional. You look first-hand into various industries with company visits and working professionals’ seminars. Workshops and individual consultations begin with self-understanding to mapping a career plan and then building professionalism. You come away from the programme with a clearer image of your career and of your chosen field.
Objectives
BOP is a year-long career development and preparatory programme that helps CityU junior students to
• | Start career planning at the beginning of university life including involvement in on-campus groups, associations, voluntary work, internships, continuous e-learning, virtual work experience etc. |
• | Develop professional image |
• | Identify academic strengths, career interests |
• | Explore personal potentials, technical knowledge and essential soft skills |
• | Understand work nature and professional requirements of specific industries |
• | Expand professional network while meeting other BOP members from various schools and programmes |
Eligibility
• | Year 1 – Year 2 Bachelor’s Degree Students, local and non-local undergraduates from all disciplines are welcome |
(Please take note exchange students, associate degree and post-graduate degree students are NOT eligible) | |
• | As BOP is a one-year programme, CityU students who will be on exchange during AY2023-24 should NOT eligible to apply |
• | Requirements: Willing to step out of comfort zones, go extra miles, strike for career excellence, get a taste of current market landscape |

All admitted students shall participate in an intensive series of customized career trainings to equip with the necessary professional soft and technical skills. Programme Application
Extended application deadline! The BOP application will close sharp on 10 Sep 2023 (11:59pm). Complete the application form HERE. Advanced taking students who have NOT obtained any transcript from CityU, please submit the latest transcript of your previous institution.

Obligations
- | Students securing +60% of attendance rate of required training will get a Normal Certificate; student with +90% attendance rate for the captioned training will obtain a Diamond Certificate. |

A1 | BOP activities are free of charge for members, while deposit may be required for certain classes. |

Q3 | How can I register for the events mentioned above? |
A3 | BOP Members will receive email notifications with registration links regularly. |
Q4 | How many activities do I have to attend to get the Attendance Certificate? |
A4 | BOP Members securing +60% of attendance rate of required training will get a Normal Certificate; student with +90% attendance rate for the captioned training will obtain a Diamond Certificate. |
