New Year’s Day flag-raising ceremony at CityU

City University of Hong Kong (CityU) held a New Year’s Day flag-raising ceremony on 1 January. Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman of CityU, together with Professor Lee Chun Sing, Provost and Deputy President of CityU, presided over the flag-raising ceremony at Wong Cheung Lo Hui Yuet Hall.
 
The Ceremony was attended by over 200 members of the University community, including Ms Lilian Chiang Sui-fook, Council Deputy Chairman, and several Council members, namely, Dr Raymond Leung Siu-hong, Mr Robert Lui Chi-wang, Mr Rex Wong Siu-han, Mr Alan Poon Pak-lun, Mr Li Guangda and Professor Albert Ip Yuk-keung, CityU Court member, together with management, staff and student representatives. The national, regional and University flags were raised to welcome the new year. CityU students trained as Guards of Honour marched onto the stage and performed a series of choreographed movements.
