Tackling plastics waste: HKIAS Distinguished Lecture Series
The current increase in plastics production/consumption has generated vast amounts of waste, which has a severe environmental impact. This lecture by Professor Tobin Marks, HKIAS Senior Fellow and a renowned scholar at Northwestern University, US, outlines more effective strategies for deconstructing/recycling plastics such as polyesters, nylons and polyolefins. The talk is titled “Toward a Circular Plastics Economy. Mechanism-Based Catalyst Design and Evolution for Waste Polymer Recycling” and will take place on 13 January as part of the HKIAS Distinguished Lecture Series, which is hosted by the Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study (HKIAS).
