To understand the lives, challenges and barriers faced by ethnic minorities (EMs) in Hong Kong, COSI and the participating students conducted a number of home visits, data collection exercises and field investigations. Then the students formed groups and designed three Virtual Reality (VR) learning scenarios: "Apartment", "Mosque" and "Community".
Participants can explore the world of EMs from a first-person perspective and learn more about their daily lives, and religious and cultural backgrounds. This helps cultivate the particpants' empathetic understanding of EMs by sharing their stories and personal experiences. At the same time, EM participants can obtain useful information from the VR scenarios to help integrate more effectively into the local community.
