According to the results of the Population By-census in 2016, there were 584,383 ethnic minority (EM) people living in Hong Kong, accounting for about 8% of the Hong Kong population. This number has continued to increase in recent years.

To learn more about EM backgrounds and stories, COSI and the participating students visited a multicultural community on Wang Fat Path in Yuen Long, and conducted interviews with the shop owners of a halal food shop, a halal meat shop and a grocery store.
