Abstract/

After World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union, two leading groups, fell into the cold war era for intelligence gathering battle. In order to analyze and understand mainland China’s nuclear weapon and missiles development, the Taiwan government cooperated with the United States, had carried out a mission which was known as “Project Razor” by sending the "Black Cat Squadron" to fly the long-range U2 surveillance aircraft to collect intelligence. Since the project was led by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the "Black Cat Squadron" was classified as strictly confidential. Recently, the United States has de-classified the U2 files; however the "Black Cat Squadron" related information were being erased, so it is still difficult for outsiders to learn about the history of “Black Cats Squadron”. In this lecture, Colonel Johnny Shen will share his personal experience with us during his days in the Black Cats Squadron.
