Introduction

CityUHK is committed to addressing today's challenges with future technologies . To step up the efforts in promoting sustainability, innovation and equity, the university launches a new series of lecture, namely “Distinguished Lecture Series on Global Sustainability”. This lecture series aims to shed light on key issues surrounding economic and social development worldwide, while emphasizing the importance of sustainability as the guiding principle for the future.

 

This lecture series will encourage knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and engagement with stakeholders from academia, industry, government and the public sector, to ultimately foster the sustainable development and social responsibility in Hong Kong and beyond.

 

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

"Distinguished Lecture Series on Global Sustainability" will align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) formulated by the United Nations, to identify and focus on the challenges faced by the Asian Region, particularly Hong Kong and the Great Bay area in sustainable development. It will cover the areas including but not limited to social innovation and entrepreneurship, health equity and public health, policy and governance for sustainability, and human capita development.
