On 29 September 2021, City University of Hong Kong Press hosted a book launch for The Father I Know: The Remarkable Story of HU Fa Kuang at the Olympic House. This book reviews the legendary life of Mr. HU Fa Kuang, spanning more than 90 years. It includes little-known childhood experiences, love stories, family anecdotes, and stories of his professional life and business. It also details his attitude towards challenges and his contributions to society, which have spanned across the whole of his life. 

In addition to the author of the book, Dr. Herman Hu, Chairman of Ryoden Development Limited, and his family who were there to show their support, the event was attended by various leaders from different social sectors, including political, business, and sports. We were honored to share the book with Mr. Henry TANG Ying-yen (member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee), Ms. TAM Wai Chu (vice director of the Committee for the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), the Hon. Abraham SHEK Lai-him, Mr. Timothy Tsun Ting FOK (Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong), Prof. Way KUO (President of the City University of Hong Kong), and Prof. Victor SIT. Many of those in attendance at the event are acquainted with Mr. HU Fa Kuang, the subject of the book, and shared similar life experiences. This combination of influential people as well as the close friends and family of Mr. HU Fa Kuang created a warm and lively atmosphere at the launch.

During the event, Dr. Hu shared the content of his new book and explained his reasons for writing it. The Hu family also shared their precious memories of Mr. HU Fa Kuang, further exemplifying his profound influence on those closest to him. Mr. HU was also present at the event and able to share his thanks to the author and those attending the launch.
