Student Residence Office organised its first online Residence Tutors (RT) Leadership Training in August 2020. Different topics were lectured to equip the RT with more expertise to deal with different situations in the Student Residence, including workshops on preventing sexual harassment, dealing with students with emotional distress and crisis, introduction of Student Residence Office’s structure and basic rules of the Student Residence, as well as hall signature events and hygiene measures for Covid-19. Through the online training, the RT could get prepared to perform their duties and serve in the Student Residence.
Student Residence e-Welcome Night held by Student Residence Office in early September and October 2020 attracted the participation of 415 new residents. During the two online welcome nights, Residence Masters delivered their welcome messages and introduced their halls respectively, while Dr. Wilson Lam, Director of Student Residence Office, introduced the general hall features, hall rules and hygiene measures. Students also performed songs to the new residents and received enthusiastic responses. Participants could get more familiar with the Student Residence after the delightful gatherings.
