Semester B in Hong Kong is always welcomed by students. Why? There are several breaks, including some longer ones like Chinese New Year and Easter Holidays. While you may just come  back from a trip at the beginning of the Year of Rat, you may find that Easter Holiday is also not far away. This time, we’ve got some suggestions to make your travelling safe and enjoyable.

Before You Leave

  1. Check the weather and public announcements
frequently about your destination. Avoid travelling
to areas with a bad weather, or a threatening
    epidemic such as Avian Flu.
  2. If you would like to go with a travel agency,
choose an authorized one. If you travel with
friends, make sure you’ve selected a trustful
    person to travel with.
  3. Prepare the documents you may need (e.g. passport, visa, cash and/or credit cards and medical cards), apply for insurance and leave copies of your itinerary, passport data page and visas with your family, friends or roommate. Tell them your detailed travel plan.
  4. Check the following in your room: doors and windows (closed), light and water tap (turned off). Avoid keeping a large amount of cash in your room.
  5. Bring with you a medical kit.

On the Way

  1. Follow local laws, and do as the locals do.
  2. Keep your luggage by your side. Do not leave
    it alone.
  3. Do not accept packages or other things from
    strangers.
  4. Take good care of your safety at every moment.

Coming Back

  1. Don’t forget to come back on or before March 26 (Wed), if you do not want to lose attendance points!
  2. If you need, ask a friend to meet you at the station.
We wish you have a good time and may fair winds accompany your safe return!
