Chan Sui Kau Hall SEAL Scholarships
Mr. Sheikh Bilal FAHEEM
The feeling of living in a protected environment with a family away from family, a family that is not the actual one but is equally important, can be comforting for any non-local student like me. The sense of belonging to this community not only gives me hope but also keeps me motivated through all the struggles that I have to go through. But luckily when there are so many people to support you and stand by your side despite their own hardship, I don’t find myself alone. We stand together and we stand strong.
My biggest struggle was within myself. My journey from being an introvert to becoming an extrovert is my success story. And it all started here, here in the student residence. People with different backgrounds, motivated enough to succeed in their lives, competing against each other in all the possible ways and proving the fact that nothing is impossible built such an environment around me which not only provided me with an excellent opportunity to step out of my comfort zone; but also helped me grow, learn, improve, and most importantly, to explore my own self. I have polished my communication and leadership skills to such an extent that it has completely transformed my personality.
Hall Life has always helped me promote my own interests at its best. The warmth that you feel here cannot be described in words. Most importantly integration in such a multicultural living environment has helped me gain lifelong friends. Along with the emotional, the financial support in the form of abundant Hall Scholarships has greatly relieved me from the financial stress. And this is all what makes it feel like a home away from home.
