Hall 11 Scholarships

Until now, my journey at CityU Student Residence has been really amazing, filled with a lot of fun and new experiences. Like every other student who left their home and began a new life here at student residence, I was also anxious and tensed in the beginning but as the time passed I started to feel like home here and now I think I’m really lucky to have been provided with such supportive and nurturing environment.

There have been numerous events organised by SRO, my hall and students of my hall as well. I have always tried my best to actively be a part of as many event as many possible. Being a fresher, although I didn’t have enough knowledge and confidence in the beginning but with support of my RTs and seniors I got involved in a lot of events. I have always been good at sports and I consider myself to be a good athlete as well. I was selected as a member of “Hall 11” PEK Swimming team in October, 2018 and participated with a lot of enthusiasm. Next were the PEK Athletic meet in October, 2018 and after going through a rigorous tryout, I made it in athletic team as well. After this, there was a halloween event in student residence, although I couldn’t contribute towards its preparation as the team for doing the tasks were already assigned but I showed my interest by participating as a member in this event and by praising the organisers. I also went for a SIE to “Choi Hung District” and “Wong Tai Sin Temple” in December. I was selected as a member in “Hall 11” Basketball Team for PEK Basketball Tournament 2019. In “Spring Fest’ 2019”, I was one of the participants and performed with a musical band in front of a large number of audience. I was also given a chance to perform in Mid-Autumn 2019 where I sang an English song. I try to keep myself being actively involved in every possible event I can participate in. With every other activity that is organised by SRO or Hall 11, I am provided with ample of opportunities to learn something new and exhibit my talents.

I am very grateful to my hall master Dr. Chris, my RTs and the SRO management team for considering me worthy of “Hall 11 Scholarship”. It is really encouraging when someone notices your efforts and appreciates you for it. There is still a long way to go and I sincerely hope to maintain the dignity of this honour awarded to me.
