I. Current (Round I)

  1. Local students without hall experience or staying in the hall less than 120 days
  2. Returning Local students (Local students who have stayed in the hall equal to or more than 120 days)

  1. For Local students without hall experience or staying in the hall less than 120 days*
  2. Bed spaces will be reserved for:

    • Students admitted through the "Student Athletes Admission Scheme (SAAS)” and recommended for Residence Scholarship Scheme (RSS) for Student Athletes upon receipt of the application before the deadline specified by the Student Residence Office. There is no guarantee that bed spaces will be granted to late applicants.
    • Students with special needs which are defined as disability that impairs movement or significantly impaired learning.

    * Definition: Staying in the hall less than 120 days cumulatively with reference to the residence record on AIMS during student's entire study period excluding the summer residence.

    Allocation criteria & Scoring System

If the demand is greater than the total number of bed spaces, the allocation of bed spaces will be based on the Scoring System. Lot drawing will be used for applicants who have the same scores above the threshold.

75% of available bed spaces for local students without hall experience or staying in the hall less than 120 days are need-based, based on the ranking of the combined scores of "Home Environment and Commuting Time" (Score A) and the ranking of the combined scores of "Leadership Qualities and Potential Contribution to Residence Life" (Score B).

Those students failing to get the hall offer via Score A & B will join lottery automatically (25% of available bed spaces for local students without hall experience or staying in the hall less than 120 days).

Students on waiting list will be topped up based on their Score A & B.

If places are available for inviting applications for Semester B of the academic year, priority will be given to Final Year Students who have never stayed in the Student Residence.

    Scoring System

Score A: Home Environment and Commuting Time

Score B: Leadership Qualities and Potential Contribution to Residence Life
