The most amazing thing about nature is its infinite variety, especially the mystery of the ocean. The SRO will provide our student residents with the opportunity to experience the work of an oceanographer and explore the interrelationship between physical and biological parameters to gain a deeper understanding of how the changing marine environment affects sea life in a changing environment. They can enjoy activities such as coral observation on a glass-bottomed boat, plankton collection and observation, and measuring different physical parameters of the atmosphere and seawater by using scientific equipment. As plankton collection and scientific equipment, the hands-on learning opportunities provided by SRO, are very rare to find outside of SRO, and we consider this to be a great opportunity for our participants.

It was a pleasure to have the Student Residence Organization provide opportunities for our student residents in both Semesters A and B, who are tired of the hustle and bustle of city life, to walk into nature and encounter dolphins. Students dressed in sportswear gather at Moon Chun Multi-function Hall and leave by coach together. In the morning, they can enjoy a dolphin survey, understand cetacean conversation in Hong Kong and meet dolphins on the yacht with the help of our guest speaker, Dr Brian Kot, Assistant Professor in JCC of the City University of Hong Kong, also the project leader of Aquatic Animal Virtopsy Lab and his team. A traditional Chinese-style lunch is usually served after the morning session, followed by a nearby temple tour or bleach cleaning together after lunch. Towards the end of the day, they would depart from the venue and return to the SR base.
