Xiamen University

Xiamen University (XMU) was established in 1921 by renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee. XMU has long been listed among China’s leading universities on the national 211 Project, 985 Project and Double First-class initiative, which have been launched by the Chinese government to support selected universities in achieving world-class standing. The School of Law at Xiamen University (XUSL) is one of the oldest and most distinguished law schools in China. In June 1926, Xiamen University established the Faculty of Law. Together with Xiamen University, XUSL has upheld the motto: “Pursuing for excellence, striving for perfection”, by maximizing its resources and creating an academic environment which allows both faculty members and students to meet their highest potential. The law discipline of the college became one of the national A-type legal disciplines in the 4th round of National Discipline Evaluation in 2017. In 2010, as the only one institution in mainland China, XUSL was selected as members of the “G-15 Law School Pilot Project” in international investment law by UNCTAD. XUSL possesses the right to confer Ph.D degrees and Master's degrees in law as a first-level discipline. In addition, XUSL holds a Jurist Master (JM) degree program and a center for post-doctoral studies in law.
