Thammasat University

Being Thailand’s oldest continuously operating law school, Thammasat University has offered legal education since 1934, and its esteemed history can be traced back to the Law School of the Ministry of Justice established in 1897. For over 80 years, the Faculty of Law has endeavoured to build up a just, democratic Thai society and serve the interests of Thai people. We have produced men and women who are champions of justice in both public and private sectors. Many alumni have had successful careers, becoming Prime Ministers, Presidents of the Parliament, Chief Justices, Attorney Generals, and prominent practitioners in international law firms. Many have devoted themselves to charitable work helping vulnerable individuals. The Law Faculty is the largest law school in the nation in terms of staff and resources, and now has more than 100 full-time academics who were educated in various jurisdictions across the globe, teaching almost every course that is offered in European law schools. Its teaching staff bring to Thammasat University’s Faculty of Law a depth and range of experience unmatched by any other law school.
