Legal Education has a long and celebrated history at Tsinghua University. Tsinghua University School of Law was formally established in 1929, and since then a large group of distinguished alumnus has made enormous contribution to law, politics and diplomacy in modern China. As a result of the higher education reform Tsinghua University School of Law was merged with other law schools in 1952. However, the pursuit of the spirit of law never stopped in Tsinghua. In 1995, School of Law was re-embraced by Tsinghua University and grew rapidly to distinguish itself within a short period of time.
Today, Tsinghua University School of Law is a leading academic center for legal education and research in China. Meanwhile, it keeps growing and gaining influence internationally. By the year 2020, Tsinghua University School of Law ranks 27 of the QS World University Rankings on the subject of Law and Legal Studies. Gathered here are the outstanding legal scholars and experts who possess both impressive academic credentials and significant experiences in practicing law. We have established strong partnership with numerous world-class law schools internationally, and we are the first law school in China that established LL.M programs in Chinese Law for international lawyers and law students. We provide an extensive range of courses and an advanced law library of considerable size. We strive to train innovative and internationally-orientated legal talent who can carry upon their shoulders the responsibilities of our country and of our time, and to contribute to the development of the rule of law in China.
