Nanjing University

Nanjing University is a key comprehensive university located in the ancient capital of Jinling. The predecessor of the Law School of Nanjing University was the former Law School of Central University. Nanjing University Law School was reestablished in 1981, and was renamed the Law Faculty in 1994. NJU Law School currently has 68 faculty members on staff, 54 full-time teachers, including 25 professors (19 doctoral professors), 28 associate professors, 1 lecturer; 7 full-time researchers. Among the faculty members, 60 of them have doctoral degrees, including 8 who have obtained their doctoral degrees from foreign academic institutions. The Law School has 11 research institutes, including the Sino-German Law Institute, the Chinese Law Case Research Center, the Institute of Private Law, and the Research Center for Codex Commentaries. Among them, the Sino-German Law Institute is an international cooperative research and teaching entity of law, jointly organized by Nanjing University and the University of Göttingen, Germany, which has achieved remarkable results in training postgraduate students. Since its establishment, NJU Law School has trained a large number of high-level professionals with both academic and moral excellence, and has played a very important role in the construction of China's rule of law society.
