This latest report was prepared by a team of experts led by Professor John Ioannidis of Stanford University, based on the August 1, 2024 snapshot from the Scopus database and is updated to the end of citation year 2023. The publicly available database provides information on the work of the world’s top-cited scientists including standardised information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score).

Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields. The selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.

Congratulations to all the above members for their outstanding achievements!
