City University of Hong Kong (CityU) announced on Thursday that it had partnered with Lucy Cavendish College of the University of Cambridge in the UK to launch a pioneering five-year scholarship program.

This initiative aims to support up to 20 students annually in pursuing a master's program in the UK, with a generous total annual funding of approximately HK$10 million.

The application period for this scholarship begins today and will conclude at the end of April next year.

Under this program, selected students will be awarded a full scholarship to undertake a full-time master's program in one of the disciplines offered by the college for one year.

The university also highlighted that priority will be given to CityU students, with any remaining slots offered to Hong Kong residents currently in the UK.

The collaboration also includes CityU becoming the first international partner of the "Future Global Leaders Programme" launched by Lucy Cavendish College, which aims to equip students with knowledge in sustainability and leadership skills necessary for tackling pressing global challenges.
