Virtual Instruction and Reference Help Desk

Virtual Instruction and Reference Help Desk service is available to users whether they are on campus or away from campus. Library staff will meet with you online and answer your questions virtually.

Eligible Users:

  • CityUHK staff and students
  • CityUHK alumni
  • Other users who possess valid CityUHK library account

Service Hours:

Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (Except Public Holidays)

Steps to Take:

- In the Library

Using Virtual Instruction and Reference Help Desk in the Library

  • Proceed to the Virtual Instruction and Reference Help Desk booth located at the Circulation Counter.
  • Click “Start” ”
    (In case the start-up screen does not appear, please click the “CityUHK logo” icon on the taskbar at the bottom)
  • Click the “Sign in to Join” button at the centre of the screen.
  • Sign in with this option,

  • CityUHK staff, students and alumni: log in with EID and AD password.
    (N.B. Starting 2013, CityUHK Office 365 Account is provided to alumni. Alumni who graduated before 2013 and is without a CityUHK Office 365 Account, activate your account by visiting here.)
  • Other users with CityUHK library account: log in with username starting “Lib_” and password.
  • Library staff will start the meeting as soon as practicable.
  • Occasionally, you may have to wait a while as library staff is temporarily away to settle some other issues. If that happens, please consider other channels for help.
  • After the meeting, clear all your sign-in and browsing history by clicking the Restart button at the taskbar.

  • Click the “Sign in to Join” button at the centre of the screen.
