The talk was held on 23 November 2018 in the Wofoo Foundation Gallery of Run Run Shaw Library, City University of Hong Kong.
The talk was hosted by Dr. Chu Siu Cheung (朱少璋博士), Senior Lecturer of the Hong Kong Baptist University Language Centre, who is also a Cantonese opera lover. And it was our great honor to have Ms Susan Tse (謝雪心小姐), renowned Cantonese opera artist and actress, as the guest speaker. With Dr. Chu’s fun and insightful curation, Ms Tse shared behind-the-scenes stories of Cantonese opera as an entertainment industry and, more importantly, as a sophisticated form of art. Ms Tse also shared fond memories of the life as a disciple of the renowned Cantonese opera artists Yam kim-fai (任劍輝) and Pak Suet-sin (白雪仙).
