Run Run Shaw Library Mascot Naming Contest
Rules and Regulations
- Each participant is allowed to submit only one name.
- The name can be submitted in English, Chinese, or both, with a maximum length of 30 characters.
- Submissions should include a short description (within 500 words in either English or Chinese) to explain the concept behind the name.
- The submitted name must be original and should not violate any trademarks or copyrights.
- All submissions will become the property of Run Run Shaw Library, CityUHK. The library will own the copyright of the winning name and reserves the rights to modify and revise the name.
- Participants agree to transfer the ownership of the names to the library for printing, merchandising, using online, or engaging in any other communication campaigns in the future.
- Entries submitted after the deadline will be not accepted.
- The Library reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet the stated requirements. Any decisions by the Library on a participant’s fulfilment of any of the stated requirements shall be final and binding.
- The Library is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, stolen, delayed, damaged, or destroyed entries or for any unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, online failures, hardware, software or other technical functions or disturbances or any other communications failures or circumstances affecting, disrupting or corrupting the contest in any manner.
- In case of any dispute, the library reserves the right of final decision and participants shall not object.
Termination
The Library reserves the right, without prior notice, and at any time, to terminate the contest, in whole or in part, or modify, suspend, or extend the contest in any way.
Privacy Notice
Participants must fill in the correct personal information. Personal information in connection with the contest is collected in compliance with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Our privacy policy and practices conform to the University's Codes of Practice for Personal Data (Privacy) Issues.
