Run Run Shaw Library Mascot Naming Contest

The Run Run Shaw Library (Library) has introduced its new mascot during the new student orientation in August 2024. It serves as an ambassador for our Library to engage with students, faculty, and the CityUHK community. Everyone is excited to meet our mascot, but one thing is missing – a name! We are organizing Run Run Shaw Library Mascot Naming Contest. All CityUHK students are cordially invited to participate in this contest.

Eligibility

All CityUHK students enrolled in courses leading to CityUHK-awarded degrees.

Important Dates and Submission

• Submission period: January 6 (Monday) to February 14 (Friday), 2025

• Result Announcement: February 28 (Friday), 2025
• Prize Presentation Ceremony: Date to be announced.

Prize

One grand prize – HKD$1,000 cash coupon.

Adjudication and Judging Criteria

A panel made up of members of the Run Run Shaw Library Public Services Committee.

The mascot’s name should be in English, Chinese, or both, with a maximum of 30 characters, along with the following criteria:

• Creative, meaningful and original. (50%)
• Easily memorable and highly distinctive. (10%)
