As part of the celebrations to mark the launch of the Hong Kong Advanced Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Studies (HKAICS) of the newly re-titled College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS), over 60 paintings and drawings by the well-known artists Professor Mike Knowles and Mrs Veronica Knowles were exhibited at the Library. The exhibition, entitled “Where the Light Lies”, showcased a selection of Professor Knowles’ landscape paintings and Mrs Knowles‘ garden paintings in the past 40 years. This event, being held at the Library’s Multi-purpose Lobby, provided students the opportunity to be exposed to world’s culture by appreciating the paintings of Professor Knowles and Mrs Knowles, and an experience in out-of-classroom learning. The Library is pleased to have given support to the event in the promotion of liberal arts education. |
