The Library received a donation of more than 50 titles from Professor Chieng Ching-chang, Visiting Professor of MBE and Founding Leader of the Bachelor of Engineering programme in Nuclear and Risk Engineering on November 26.
CityU is the first university in Hong Kong to run the Nuclear and Risk Engineering program. The Library is honored to have received the book donation from Professor Chieng. As an effort to broaden students' knowledge in the relevant field and to enrich the Library's collection, the donation consists of more than 50 books, revealing the knowledge of Thermal Science and Fluid Mechanics. The donation is from Prof. Chieng’s own purchase and previous collection. Prof. Chieng wishes those books would facilitate the learning and teaching at CityU.
"Reading is key to increasing students' learning outcomes especially in the core subject areas such as physics and math," said Prof. Steve Ching, the University Librarian.
The Library welcomes suggestions from faculty members on collection building.
