What is a root canal treatment anyway? When is it indicated for your patients? What are the alternatives? Endodontic disease, affecting dental pulp, is a common presenting complaint in veterinary patients. If you have ever agonized over the decision to extract that large fractured carnassial or that “healthy” mandibular canine tooth, this lecture will help you understand the disease process further so you can make informed clinical decisions. Dr. Nadine Fiani, Section Chief of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, will present a seminar on the management of endodontic disease and dentoalveolar trauma.

Report
University of Hong Kong is fortunate to have collaborative ties with Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, one of the top three veterinary schools in the world. Part of this collaborative agreement is our ability to tap into Cornell’s elite staff and showcase them to Hong Kong’s veterinary community.
Dr Nadine Fiani, Section Chief of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Cornell University, presented a seminar at CityU on the 28th of February. Her seminar focused on endodontics and alveolar tissue damage – the first time these topics have been covered in Hong Kong. Pulp damage is seen commonly but not often managed appropriately. Dr Fiani’s seminar gave the Hong Kong veterinarians a great opportunity to learn myriad tips and tricks to better manage teeth with endodontic or alveolar tissue damage.
