Exploring Innovation: Site Visit to HKPC & MIT HK Innovation Node

On 6th February 2024, CityU students had the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Hong Kong Innovation Node to explore the realms of innovation and technology. They gained insights into HKPC's crucial role in promoting productivity excellence and fostering innovation in local industries. The students also toured an exhibition featuring projects on smart city and cyber security. Furthermore, they were exposed to HKPC’s advanced technologies and innovative services, including metaverse enabling technologies, autonomous electric vehicles, additive manufacturing technologies, and food safety management systems. The visit to MIT HK Innovation Node enlightened them about the MITdesignX methodology and its applications in revitalising the local innovation ecosystem. This enriching experience left a lasting impact on the students’ academic and professional journeys.
