CityU Tiger Welcoming Ceremony 2023

The CityU Tiger Welcoming Ceremony took place at CityU on 26 September, where approximately 1,000 elite students were officially welcomed into the CityU Tiger programme for the upcoming academic year.

It was an honour to have Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang (President of CityU), Professor Lee Chun-sing (CityU Provost and Deputy President), Professor Johnny Ho Chung-yin (Director of the Knowledge Transfer Office), Professor Kenneth Lo Kam-wing (Director of the Talent and Education Development Office), Professor Alvin Lai Chi-keung (Associate Director of the Talent and Education Development Office), associate provosts, deans and associate deans from colleges and schools, and heads and directors from departments to welcome and congratulate the Tiger students.

Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, President of CityU, warmly welcomed and congratulated the CityU Tiger students for embarking on the path to success. He accentuated the significance of acquiring knowledge beyond mere exam preparation and the benefits of learning through innovation at CityU.

“As CityU Tigers, you will find that your advantages will not be just academic excellence,” said President Boey. “Your willingness to learn from different cultures and people from around the world will make you mature graduates.” CityU will dramatically increase the number of overseas internships to enrich its students’ learning experience, he added.
