Delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology visits CityUHK
A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China visited City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) on 30 October. CityUHK and UNCTAD sign an MoU to enhance partnership and cooperation on a sustainable future

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has built an extensive cooperative relationship with the University of Cambridge this year. Delegation from Baosteel visits CityUHK

The MOU centred on joint research and scholarship collaborations, was signed by Professor Wang Xin, Dean of the College of Science at CityUHK, and and Professor Clemens Kaminski, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. President Boey and Professor Sir Anton Muscatelli, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Glasgow, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 December, marking a new milestone in academic cooperation between the two universities. The MoU will enhance collaboration in various areas, including the exchange of academic and research staff, arranging student exchanges, conducting collaborative research projects, organising lectures and symposia, exchanging research information and materials, and promoting other academic, research, teaching and innovation cooperation, as mutually agreed.

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) Council Chairman Mr Lester Garson Huang led a delegation of senior management to visit Kazakhstan between 28 November and 1 December. Ms Israt Ara, Consul General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong, visited City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) on 30 October. During the visit, Ms Israt Ara met with Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, to explore collaboration opportunities between Bangladesh and CityUHK.
Senior officials from Dongguan visit CityUHK
A senior-level delegation led by Mr Xiao Yafei, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee and Secretary of the Dongguan Municipal Party Committee, visited CityUHK on 25 October. They were warmly welcomed by Mr Lester Garson Huang, CityUHK Council Chairman, Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, President, Professor Kevin Downing, Secretary to the Council, and Professor Lu Chun, Vice-President (Mainland Strategy). A meeting was arranged for both parties to exchange ideas on expediting the establishment of CityU (Dongguan).
Consul General of Singapore in Hong Kong visits CityUHK
Mr Ong Siew Gay, the Consul General of Singapore in Hong Kong, led a delegation to visit CityUHK on 10 October. During the visit, Mr Ong met with Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, CityUHK President, to explore collaboration opportunities between Singapore and CityUHK.
CityU and the Changsha Municipal People's Government sign an MoU to jointly establish the Innovation Research Institute
Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), led a delegation from CityUHK to visit Changsha, the capital of Hunan province, from 31 August to 2 September. During the visit, CityUHK and the Changsha Municipal People's Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and CityUHK and Hunan University discussed jointly establishing the CityUHK Innovation Research Institute to strengthen cooperation in life sciences, new materials and computer science.
