Course Aims

Students will engage in an immersive, hands-on experience in the field of public health through the Practicum Stream within the Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme. This 6-credit course allows students to bridge the gap between theory and practice, as they apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the classroom to real-world public health challenges.

Students will be placed in various professional settings, such as public health agencies, hospitals, non- profit organizations, or research institutions, where they will work under the guidance of experienced public health professionals. Tasks may include data collection and analysis, programme planning and evaluation, policy development, or community health promotion, among others.
Through this Practicum course, students not only aim to enhance their understanding of public health issues, but also to equip themselves with practical skills, professional connections, and invaluable experiences that will benefit their future careers in public health.
