Hong Kong Centre for Cerebro-cardiovascular Health Engineering (COCHE) has joined forces with VTech Communications Limited to enhance the development and production of cutting-edge devices for early detection of cardiovascular diseases. This collaboration leverages COCHE's research prowess in prevention and monitoring technology for cerebro-cardiovascular diseases, along with VTech's manufacturing expertise, to fast-track the innovation and commercialization process.

Established in 2020 under the City University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with University of Oxford and Karolinska Institutet, COCHE is a leading medical research and development centre. Its research areas encompass wearable intelligent sensor Engineering and bioinstrumentation, multi-modal medical and molecular Imaging, and human intelligence and AI integration, with a focus on innovative wearables that collect continuous key vital signs in real time. This is paving the way for early detection and diagnosis of possible cardiovascular diseases, which are the leading cause of death globally.

VTech is one of the world’s top 50 leading electronic manufacturing service providers. It has a well-established reputation for turning innovative ideas into marketable products for production on a large scale.

The collaboration framework goes beyond just developing medical devices for cerebro-cardiovascular diseases. It covers everything from creating prototypes and mass production to exchanging knowledge through seminars, workshops, and training programs. These initiatives aim to boost the expertise of both teams and make technology transfer easier.

This collaboration is designed to speed up the development of cutting-edge diagnostic technologies for cerebro-cardiovascular diseases. By improving the technical skills and use of medical devices, the goal is to provide more accurate and effective solutions for the early detection, prevention, and treatment of these diseases worldwide.
