Dr CHIRARATTANANON Pakpong and his research team have developed a lightweight two-wing micro drone recently. The drone, with weight of 35.1 grams only, uses less electricity that allows it to roughly double its flight time. It can hover for 15 to 24 minutes with carrying a small air-quality sensor or camera for mapping and surveillance tasks.

The finding was published in Science Robotics titled “A bioinspired revolving-wing drone with passive attitude stability and efficient hovering flight”.
