Smart Mask improves personal and public health by detecting breathing, coughing and speaking
31 OCT 2022Dr. Yu Xinge and the collaborators from sister departments have developed an Internet of Things (IoT) Smart Mask integrating an ultrathin nanocomposite sponge structure-based soundwave sensor, which can detect and classify various respiratory sounds (breathing, coughing and speaking) using deep learning, thus helping to improve personal and public health.

New paper published on Encoding of Tactile Information in Hand via Skin-integrated Wireless Haptic Interface in Nature Machine Intelligence
17 OCT 2022Dr. Xinge Yu, Dr. Lidai Wang and their collaborators published their work on encoding of tactile information in hand via skin-integrated wireless haptic interface in Nature Machine Intelligence. The team introduced a soft, ultrathin, miniaturized and wireless electrotactile system (WeTac) that delivers current through the hand to induce tactile sensations as the skin-integrated haptic interface.

Monitoring Wound Healing Status with mRNA Nanosensors
22 APR 2022Compared with the existing laborious, resource-intensive and disruptive methods for monitoring the wound healing status, Dr XU Chenjie and his collaborators have developed mRNA nanosensors (i.e. NanoFlare) that can reveal the healing status through targeted and semi-quantitative examination of the mRNA biomarkers in skin cells.
