Undergraduate Students Shine at iGEM Competition
UG students Miss ABYLOVA Bermet, Miss ANTHONY Valensia Nadya, Mr KHAN Abdul Raffay (graduate) and their team members have been awarded the Gold Medal at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition. The team was also recognized as one of the top 5 teams in the Best Therapeutic Project category and one of the top 10 teams in the Best Presentation category.
Most notably, the team received the Best Education Award, an honor granted to only one team out of the 195 international teams competing in the undergraduate section. This award is a significant recognition of the team's extensive efforts in educational outreach.
The iGEM Competition is an annual, worldwide synthetic biology event aimed at undergraduate university students, as well as high school and graduate students. Multidisciplinary teams work together to design, build, and test a system of their own design using interchangeable biological parts and standard molecular biology techniques.
