- Should a Bachelor's degree student fails to fulfill the English Attainment Requirement through ELC courses, he/she would not be able to graduate until obtaining one of the alternative qualifications* or pass the University’s annual ELC Placement Test in two years time.
*Acceptable Alternative Qualifications:- a TOEFL score of 560 or above (paper based)/220 or above (computer based)/83 or above (internet based)
- an IELTS score of 7.0 or above
- Cambridge Proficiency in English at grade ‘C’ or above
- successful completion of a degree in an English-speaking country
- a grade in HKASL Use of English one grade higher than the minimum programme-entrance requirement

- If a student does not have any course to take during the above mentioned two years period, the University will cease to sponsor his/her Student Visa/Entry Permit and the student will be required to leave Hong Kong before his/her student visa expires.
