Academic Termination
The Dean may terminate the study of a student under the following circumstances.
Students Admitted in 2020/21 and Thereafter
- The students fail to pass a required course, or its equivalent/substitute course, after three attempts.
- The student’s SGPA is below 1.70 for any three enrolled semesters; or
- The student’s academic progress is unsatisfactory and is unable to meet the conditions stipulated by the home academic unit after being put on Academic Probation for one semester.
Students Admitted in 2019/20 and Before
- The students fail to pass a required course, or its equivalent/substitute course, after three attempts.
- The student’s SGPA is below 1.00 for two consecutive enrolled semesters; or
- The student’s academic progress is unsatisfactory and is unable to meet the conditions stipulated by the home academic unit after being put on Academic Probation for two consecutive semesters.
*The Dean may prescribe any other criteria for terminating a student’s study.
If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the page contents and the Academic Regulations (AR), rules and guidelines, the AR, rules and guidelines shall prevail.
