About Us
The Academic Regulations and Records Office (ARRO) is one of the key administrative offices at CityU supporting undergraduate students (as well as postgraduate students in certain areas like class and examination scheduling, course registration and Commencement) and staff in the University’s core business of learning and teaching. Playing a crucial role in contributing to the University’s mission to provide its students with quality higher education, ARRO always strives to achieve excellence in providing quality services to all of its stakeholders.
ARRO is structured into cross-functional teams to provide all-round support services to staff and students on academic matters. Its extensive work portfolio covers the entire study cycle of undergraduate students from their enrolment until graduation, with a wide range of interlocking processes including new student enrolment, class scheduling, course registration, examination scheduling, conducting examinations and processing student assessments and academic awards. ARRO maintains and updates students’ records, issues certifications, academic transcripts and award certificates, and organises the annual Commencement. It also operates a Service Centre that handles students’ walk-in, telephone and email enquiries. Numerous web functions are also provided to facilitate students in submitting applications relating to their studies and checking their own records.
Last but not least, ARRO also provides professional secretariat support to the University’s supreme academic body, the Senate, along with several Senate and next-tier committees, including the Senate Nominating Committee, Senate Welfare Committee, and the Academic Review Committee.
