Risk Management

CityU is committed to effective risk management in support of our pursuit for excellence in research and professional education.

CityU takes a holistic approach in risk management, comprising a top-down view at the strategic level and bottom-up processes at the operational level.

At the strategic level, the University conducts review of our external and internal environment to identify risks that might impede us from achieving our strategic objectives and goals. Mitigations to strategic risks are set out in the action plans of the University's 5-year Strategic Plan.

Regular review is made to the University risk matrix and risk register which identify risk areas, ownership, mitigation measures and residual risks.

At the operational level, the University makes risk management an embedded element in our operations as an integral part of our internal controls and daily work processes.
