Dr. Nikola Heblinski

Biography

Dr Heblinski is a specialist in small animal surgery. She graduated from the Freie University Berlin, Germany, in 2007. Following, Dr Heblinski did her doctoral degree at the Department of Veterinary Pathology, also at the Freie University Berlin, Germany from 2007 until 2010.

Soon after, she completed a one-year rotating internship followed by a one-year surgical internship at a large small animal referral hospital in Augsburg, Germany. After completion of the internships, she worked at different referral hospitals in Germany and Austria, before starting her three-year surgical residency in 2015 in Hollabrunn, Austria. From 2016 to 2018 she continued her specialist training at Evidensia Specialist Animal Hospital in Stromsholm, Sweden. After successfully sitting her board certifying exam to become a member of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) in February 2019, she continued to work in Sweden before moving to Sydney, Australia. In September 2019, she was offered a clinical position at the Sydney University Small Animal Teaching Hospital. In May 2020, Dr Heblinski joined Veterinary Specialists of Sydney, a large small animal referral hospital in Sydney, Australia.

Throughout her career, Dr Heblinski has published in various veterinary journals, including the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Journal of Comparative Pathology, Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery and Journal of Small Animal Practice.

Dr. Heblinski's Nikola enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery, however, her main interest is orthopaedic surgery.
