Dr. Alan Taylor

Biography

Dr Alan Taylor is a Boarded Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr Taylor graduated in Veterinary Science at the University of Bristol (2006), after retiring from the Royal Air Force, and he holds additional degrees in Biology, and Natural Sciences with Chemistry. After completing an equine internship at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, he accepted a position as lead equine and large animal anaesthetist. Alan gained his ECVAA Diploma in Anaesthesia and Analgesia in 2017 and recently completed a PGCE (Vet Ed) with the RVC.

Alan is currently the anaesthesiologist at CityU VMC in Hong Kong. His clinical interests include abdominal emergency, critical care and intravenous anaesthesia, respiratory physiology and multi-modal analgesia. His publications include welfare, bacteriology and equine science, and he lectures on veterinary anaesthesia internationally.
